Is CS 145 a programming course?

You will learn to program if you take CS 145. So yes, it is a programming course. But you will also learn important principles of object oriented design as well. That’s the real goal of the course.

What programming language is used in CS 145?

Java. You will also learn how to use a high end integrated development environment IDE such as Eclipse for Java software development environment on a Windows XP system.

I have never programmed before. Should I take some other course before CS 145?

No. CS 145 is designed for a student with little or no previous programming experience.

I already know how to program. Do I still need to take CS 145?

Maybe. Most AP Java courses will transfer as CS 145. Please see the Department Chair for details.
