Background:

Dr. Tan joined the Department of Computer Science in the summer of 1995. He is active in student/faculty collaborative research and is currently the department's internship coordinator.

Education:

• Ph.D., University of Minnesota, Computer & Information Sciences, 1990.
• M.S., University of Minnesota, Computer & Information Sciences, 1986.

Interests:

Dr. Tan's research interests are in the areas of operating systems, network security, and distributed computing.
