We're pleased that you have decided to transfer to UWEC to major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering. We think you'll be very glad you did.
There is one very important thing you should know right now that will make you a much happier person: The first course in the CS/CE/SE majors is CS 185 and it has a prerequisite of Math 109 (Algebra for Calculus). In order for you to register for CS 185, you must either place out of Math 109 (via the UWEC math placement test, or through a high school AP Calculus exam, or by transferring a math course into UWEC in place of Math 109) or be enrolled in it at the same time as CS 185. There are few if any exceptions to this rule. Similarly, Math 112 (Precalculus) is a prerequisite for CS 245, and Math 114 (Calculus I) is a prerequisite for CS 255.
