Fall Workshop, September 2009

30th Anniversary Workshop, Eau Claire International Folk Dancers

The Eau Claire International Folk Dancers are celebrating their 30th year of dancing in Eau Claire in fall 2009. We invite you to celebrate with us at a weekend workshop from September 25th to 27th, 2009. Our theme for teachers is "the lost children of Eau Claire".

  • Lee Otterholt (Balkan), of Laguna Beach, California - born and raised in Eau Claire
  • Yuliyan Yordanov (Bulgarian), of Madison, Wisconsin, formerly of Lovech, Bulgaria - spent his first six months after moving to the United States in Eau Claire
  • Hilde Otterholt (Hula), of Laguna Beach, California, formerly of Norway - she's married to Lee, and is thus an honorary lost child of Eau Claire

We'll have live music parties on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night will feature the Reptile Palace Orchestra from Madison. Saturday night will feature Orkestar Bez Ime from Minneapolis, as well as a return of the famous tortes that some of you might remember from our last workshop in 1999.

The weekend will take place at the Great Hall of the Episcopal Christ Church Cathedral, a historic landmark building in downtown Eau Claire. We'll be dancing in a beautiful room with wood floors.
